Post Falls Junior Tackle Association

Players and Parents information

Please take time to read the following information carefully.  We hope you will find the answers to all your questions. Check the "News and Events" page periodically as it is updated regularly. Contact the league at 208-699 -1147 for more information..

IMPORTANT

Think carefully about football before you register. We will be using your registration money to purchase new equipment. Refunds will be granted on a player by player basis.

Player's Fees

A player's fee of $85.00 will be charged to each participant this year. This is down from the previous years to enable more children to participate. If this sounds like a lot of money, consider that it costs about $250.00 to outfit one player in addition to insurance and game day expenses. Also, it should be remembered that this program is independent of the Post Falls Recreation Department and Post Falls school district. Thus, there are no funds available from those agencies.

Physicals/Consent Form

Players and cheerleaders must pass a physical examination before they can attend their first practice. A new physical examination and consent form is required each year of participation. You are required to get a physical on your OWN at your OWN expense. You must have the physical consent form filled out and signed by your parent/guardian. CDA Pediatrics at 1300 E.Mullan Avenue offer free sports physical during the summer months. Exams are done on a first come first serve basis. Check our local newspaper for dates.

Insurance

Each player will be covered under our group insurance policy and this cost is covered in the registration fee. A players family insurance policy will be used as primary coverage first and PJFTA group policy as a secondary coverage. We realize that some homeowners policies do cover football injuries, but many policies do not cover contact sports and so we prefer to carry the secondary insurance for all participants, regardless. Coaches will have accident forms available at all times and should be filled out regardless of insurance coverage used.

Equipment

Players will be issued  helmet ,shoulder pads, game and practice jersey and mouth guard. The player will need to provide lower body pads, black game pants and any additional equipment such as forearm pads, etc, which will be at players expense. At the time equipment is checked out, a $100 deposit will be required. Deposits shall be returned when equipment is returned. The league provides junior size footballs. We emphasize to each player that all equipment must be maintained and cleaned throughout the season. For bookkeeping records please submit 2 separate payments: 1 for league fees and 1 for equipment deposits.

Coaches

PLEASE remember that Post Falls Junior Tackle Association is a volunteer organization. Coaches are volunteers and spend a considerable amount of time with your child through the season. Your support during games and practices will make this a rewarding experience for everyone.
